  • description

    The LTC®3210 is a low-noise charge pump DC/DC converter designed to drive 4 main LEDs and a high-current CAM LED for camera illumination. LTC3210 requires only four small ceramic capacitors and two current-setting resistors to form a complete LED power supply and current controller.

    An internal soft-start circuit prevents excessive inrush current during start-up and mode changes. The high switching frequency allows for the use of small external capacitors. Independent main and camera full-scale current setpoints are set by two external resistors. The shutdown mode and current output level are selected via two logic inputs.

    The full-scale current flowing through the LEDs utilizes an external resistor to set. Transform the ENM and ENC pin levels to regulate LED current through an internal counter and DAC. The device is shut down when both the ENM and ENC pins are low and persist for 150μs (typical).

    The charging pump optimizes efficiency based on the voltage across the LED current source. The device is powered on in 1x mode and automatically switches to boost mode when any enabled LED current source begins to enter a voltage drop state. LTC3210 is available in a 3mm x 3mm 16-pin QFN package.
