  description

  LTC^®The 3214 is a low noise, high current charge pump DC/DC converter capable of driving high current LEDs from a 2.9V to 4.5V input up to 500mA. Low external component count (two jumper capacitors, one programming resistor, and at V.)_INand two bypass capacitors on the CPO pin) make the LTC3214 ideal for small, battery-powered applications.
  
  A built-in soft-start circuit is used to prevent excessive inrush current during start-up. The high switching frequency allows the use of small external capacitors.
  
  The output current level is programmed using an external resistor. The LED current is regulated using an internal 110mΩ sense resistor. The automatic mode switching function optimizes efficiency by monitoring the voltage across the charge pump and switching modes only when a dropout voltage is detected. The device is available in a low profile 3mm × 3mm 10-pin DFN package.
