  LT^®The 3799-1 is an isolated flyback controller with power factor correction specifically designed to drive LEDs. The controller operates in critical conduction mode, allowing the use of a small transformer. The controller uses a novel current-sensing scheme to deliver well-regulated current to the secondary side without the need for an optocoupler. A powerful gate driver is included to drive external high voltage MOSFETs. The LT3799-1 uses a built-in multiplier that typically achieves a power factor of 0.97.FAULTThe pins are responsible for informing open and short LED conditions. The LT3799-1 offers better voltage regulation than the LT3799, but is not designed for use with TRIAC dimmers.

  The LT3799-1 uses micropower hysteresis start-up for efficient operation with offline input voltages and a third winding to power the device. An internal LDO provides well-regulated power to the device's internal circuitry and gate driver.
