  description

  The LTC®6101 / LTC6101HV is a general-purpose, high-voltage, high-side current-sense amplifier. Superior device features provide design flexibility; The maximum offset voltage is 300μA and the current consumption is only 375μA (typical at 60V). The LTC6101 operates from a 4V to 60V supply, while the LTC6101HV operates from a 5V to 100V supply.

  LTC6101 Current is monitored by an external detector (shunt resistor) that detects the voltage across both sides. The internal circuitry converts the input voltage to the output current, allowing a small sense signal at a high common-mode voltage to be converted to a signal relative to ground. Low DC offset allows for a small shunt resistor and a large gain set resistor. As a result, power consumption in the breakout can be reduced.

  The wide operating power supply range and high accuracy make the LTC6101 ideal for applications ranging from automotive to industrial and power management. The maximum input sense voltage of 500mV allows for monitoring over a wide current range. The fast response makes the LTC6101 an excellent choice for load current warning and shutdown protection control. With very low supply current, LTC6101 is suitable for power-sensitive applications.

  LTC6101 is available in 5-pin SOT-23 and 8-pin MSOP packages.
