  LTC^®The 6101/LTC6101HV are general-purpose, high voltage, high side current sense amplifiers. Superior device features provide design flexibility; The maximum offset voltage is 300μA and the current consumption is only 375μA (typical at 60V). The LTC6101 operates from 4V to 60V while the LTC6101HV operates from 5V to 100V.

  The LTC6101 monitors current through an external sense resistor (shunt resistor) across the voltage. Internal circuitry converts the input voltage to output current, allowing small sense signals at high common-mode voltages to be converted to a signal relative to ground. The low DC offset allows the use of a small shunt resistor and a large gain setting resistor. As a result, power consumption in the tap is reduced.

  The wide operating supply range and high accuracy make the LTC6101 ideal for applications ranging from automotive to industrial and power management. A maximum input sense voltage of 500mV allows monitoring over a wide current range. The fast response makes the LTC6101 an excellent choice for load current warning and shutdown protection control. With very low supply current, the LTC6101 is suitable for power sensitive applications.

  The LTC6101 is available in 5-lead SOT-23 and 8-lead MSOP packages.
