description

The LTC®6102/LTC6102HV is a general-purpose, high-voltage, high-side current-sense amplifier. The high supply voltage ratings of these devices allow them to be used in many high-end applications, while the low drift and offset guarantee accuracy under a wide range of operating conditions. The LTC6102-1 is a version of the LTC6102 that includes a low-power shutdown mode to save the system in standby mode.

LTC6102/LTC6102HV monitors the current through an external detector (shunt resistor) that detects the voltage across both sides. The internal circuit is responsible for converting the input voltage into the output current, allowing a small sense signal on a large common-mode voltage to be converted into a signal with ground as a reference potential. The low DC offset allows for very low shunt resistor resistance values and large gain setting resistors. As a result, power consumption in the breakout is reduced.

The wide operating power range and high accuracy make the LTC6102 ideal for a wide range of applications, from automotive to industrial and power management. The maximum input sense voltage of 2V allows it to monitor a wide range of currents and voltages. The fast response makes the LTC6102 perfect for load current alarm and shutdown protection control.

All versions of the LTC6102 are available in an 8-pin MSOP and 3mm x 3mm DFN package.
