Each LTC6802-1 is capable of measuring voltage from up to 12 series batteries with input common-mode voltages up to 60V. In addition, multiple LTC6802-1 devices can be connected in series to monitor the voltage of each cell in a long series of batteries. In addition, by using a unique level-shifted serial interface, multiple devices can be daisy-chained without the need for optocouplers or optoisolators. When multiple LTC6802-1 devices are connected in series, they can operate simultaneously, allowing voltage measurements of all cells in the battery pack to be completed in less than 13ms. To minimize power, the LTC6802-1 offers a measurement mode designed to simply monitor overvoltage and undervoltage conditions for each battery. In addition, the device offers a standby mode.
