• description The LTC®6803 is a second-generation complete battery monitoring IC that includes a 12-bit ADC, an accurate voltage reference, a high-voltage input multiplexer, and a serial interface. Each LTC6803 is capable of measuring voltages from up to 12 series-connected batteries or supercapacitors. Multiple LTC6803 devices can be stacked to monitor the voltage of each cell in a long string. Each LTC6803-2 / LTC6803-4 has an individually addressable serial interface, allowing up to 16 LTC6803-2 / LTC6803-4 devices to be connected to a control processor and operated simultaneously. Each battery input has an associated MOSFET power switch for discharging overcharged batteries. LTC6803-2 internally connects the bottom end of the battery pack to the V―.
