description

The LTM®4618 is a complete 6A output switch-mode DC/DC power supply in a 9mm x 15mm x 4.32mm LGA package. The package includes a switching controller, power FETs, inductors, and all supporting components. The LTM4618 operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 26.5V and supports an output voltage range of 0.8V to 5V (set by a single external resistor). Its high-efficiency design delivers 6A of continuous current (peak at 8A). Only a small number of input and output capacitors are required.

The use of high switching frequencies and a current-mode architecture enables fast transient response to voltage and load changes without sacrificing stability. The device supports frequency synchronization and output voltage tracking for power rail sequencing. Under light load conditions, there is an option to perform burst mode operation or pulse hop mode.

The device's fault protection features include overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and a foldback current limit to provide short-circuit protection.

LTM4618 is a lead-free device and is RoHS compliant.
