description

The LTM®8042 is a complete μModule® step-up LED driver designed to drive LEDs up to 1A, and the LTM8042-1 is designed to drive LEDs up to 350mA. The device integrates a boost power supply topology with a unique current loop to act as a constant current source. The PWM input provides LED dimming up to 3000:1, while analog dimming of 10:1 can be achieved through a single resistor or an analog voltage applied to the CTL pin. Like all boost topologies, the LTM8042 / LTM8042-1 has an uninterrupted current flow between its input and output, so it cannot tolerate a short circuit or overload condition from input to ground.
