LTM8062/LTM8062A provides a constant current/constant voltage charging characteristic, a maximum charge current of 2A, and uses a 3.3V floating voltage feedback reference, so a resistor divider can be used to set the desired battery float voltage in the range of up to 14.4V (LTM8062) and 18.8V (LTM8062A). LTM8062/LTM8062A uses an input voltage regulation loop that reduces the charge current when the input voltage drops below a programmed level (set by a resistor divider). When a solar panel is used to power the LTM8062/LTM8062A, this input regulation loop is used to keep the panel at peak output power. In addition, the LTM8062 / LTM8062A features pre-check trickle charging, dead battery detection, charge termination option selection, and automatic restart. LTM8062 / LTM8062A are available in a compact (9mm x 15mm x 4.32mm) molded resin pad grid array (LGA) package with enhanced heat resistance and are suitable for automated assembly using standard surface mount equipment.
