overview

MAX4548/MAX4549 serial interface, programmable, triple 3x2 audio/video crossover switches are ideal for multimedia applications. These devices include three crosspoint switching matrices, each with three inputs and two outputs. To improve shutdown isolation, each switch matrix has a shunt input and each output is programmable for selective noise-free or regular mode operation. An optional set of internal resistor dividers provides DC bias for each output when using AC-coupled inputs. To improve crosstalk, the voltage divider includes four external access bypass points.

MAX4548/MAX4549 features a matching resistance between 35Ω maximum on-resistance, channel, 5Ω resistor flatness and 0.07% total harmonic distortion (THD) 7Ω. In addition, they have -72 dB isolation at 20kHz at 10MHz - 85dB and -55dB at 20kHz and -85dB crosstalk at 10MHz. MAX4548 uses a 2-wire I²-compatible serial interface, while MAX4549 uses a 3-wire SPI™/QSPI™/MICROWIRE™ compatible serial interface. The devices are available in a 36-pin SSOP package and are specified as an extended (-40°C to +85°C) operating range.
