MAX4550/MAX4570 serial interface, programmable, dual 4X2 audio/video crosspoint switches are ideal for multimedia applications. Each device contains two identical arrays of cross-point switches, each with four inputs and two outputs. To improve shutdown isolation, SA and SB are entered as additional intersections as shunts. Each output is selectively programmable to operate in either noise-free or regular mode. When using AC-coupled inputs, a set of internal resistor dividers provide DC bias for each output. In addition, 4 auxiliary outputs are controlled via an additional 2-wire or 3-wire interface circuit of an additional MAX4550/MAX4570.
The resistor has a MAX4550/MAX4570 function of 80Ω, a channel, a 5Ω resistor flatness, and a matching resistance of 0.014% total harmonic distortion of 10Ω. In addition, they feature at least -110dB at 4MHz, isolation in the audio frequency range and -78 dB, and crosstalk with an audio frequency range of -95 dB and -54 dB at 4MHz. MAX4550 uses a 2-wire, I²C-compatible serial interface, while MAX4570 uses a 3-wire SPI™/QSPI™ or MICROWIRE™ compatible serial interface. The parts are available in 28-pin SSOP and wide SO packages and are tested over a commercial (0°C to +70°C) or extended (-40°C to +85°C) operating temperature range.
