MAX9551 high-current VCOM drive buffer for TFT LCD

description

MAX9550/MAX9551/MAX9552 provides a VCOM source for TFT LCDs. MAX9550/MAX9551/MAX9552 source and absorb high currents to quickly restore VCOM voltage, making it ideal for TFT LCDs. The output is stable to within 0.1% and over 2μs. In addition, MAX9550/MAX9551/MAX9552 directly drive the capacitive load of the VCOM layer of the TFT LCD display without the need for a series resistor.

MAX9550/MAX9551/MAX9552 function single, dual, four-channel VCOM amplifier, respectively. MAX9550/MAX9551/MAX9552 can drive up to 800 mA per channel current peak and operate up to 20V. The device features soft-start to reduce inrush current, output short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown.

MAX9550 is a space-saving 5-pin low-profile SOT23 package with an 8-pin μMAX® package with bare pads. MAX9551 is an 8-pin μMAX package with exposed pads. MAX9552 is in a 14-pin TSSOP package. All devices are specified to operate in a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
