MC13850EPR2generalLow noiseamplifier, with a bypass switch

The MC13850 is a cost-effective, high IP3 and low noise figure low noise amplifier (LNA).This is the popular MBC13720 device in a lead-free package.Thanks to the MBC13720, this device is designed for general purpose RF applications, but has good high frequency gain and noise figure.The integrated bypass switch includes maintaining high input intercept point performance.The inputs and outputs match the outside of the circuit to allow for maximum design flexibility.The LNA has two selectable IP3 modes, bypass mode and standby mode.The MC13850 is a fabricated advanced RF BiCMOS process using a SiGe:C module, packaged in an MLPD-8 lead-free package.

Gain: 470 MHz at 21 dB, 14.5 dB and 1960 MHz and 12 dB in high IP3 mode at 2.4 GHz
Input third-order intercept point (IIP3): 10 dBm at 1960 MHz, 2.4 GHz and 13 dBm output power -2.5 dBm in high IP3 mode at 860 MHz
Noise figure (NF): 1.6 dB at 860 MHz at frequencies at 1960 MHz, 1.4 dB and 1.55 dB, in low IP3 mode at 2400 MHz
Output 1 dB compression point (P1dB): 9 dBm in high IP3 mode at 470 MHz and 11.5 dBm at 1960 MHz
The optional IP3 mode allows the receiver to run the required IP3 performance as required for linearity
Bypass mode has return loss comparable to active mode in systems with filters and duplexers
Bypass mode for improved signal strength environments that vary in dynamic range
Integrated logic controls current consumption in standby mode Total supply current: 5 mA in low IP3 mode and 10 mA in high IP3 mode at 2.7V.In bypass mode In a receiver system with 20% active mode and 80% bypass mode, the average leakage current is 1 mA
On-chip offset sets the bias point
