MC33886 is a monolithic power supply IC that includes control logic, charge pumps, gate drivers, low R DS(ON) MOSFET outputs, and H-bridge circuitry in a small surface mount package. It is designed to drive an inductive load with an RMS current of 5.2 in both directions. In addition, current drivers can be pulse-width modulated (PWM) at a frequency of 10 kHz. Output undervoltage protection via status flag, detection and reporting under overtemperature and overcurrent conditions. Output control is through two independent inputs (forward, reverse, free low, and free high are possible active output states). Two forbidden inputs, low = TRUE and one high = TRUE, otherwise a high impedance output will be placed in the OFF state. Typical applications include: DC motor keystone lead screw actuators, servo variable speed actuators, bidirectional thrust solenoids, and decimal horsepower DC motor control.
