MC33063A and MC34063A easy-to-use chips contain all the major circuitry needed to build a simple DC-DC converter. These devices primarily consist of an internal temperature compensation reference, comparator, an oscillator, one with active current limiting, a drive PWM controller, and a high-current output switch. Therefore, the unit requires a minimum of external components for the construction of boost, buck converter and inverter topologies.

The MC33063A is characterized by operating from -40°C to 85°C, while the MC34063A is characterized by operating from 0°C to 70°C
