The Texas Instruments MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontroller family includes multiple devices with peripheral sets for a variety of different applications. The architecture, combined with 5 low-power modes, is optimized to implement portablemeasurement applications to extend battery life. The device has a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and contributes to maximum code efficiency constantly. A digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) allows wake-up from a low-power mode without being active mode
1 microsecond.

The MSP430F21x2 family is a microcontroller with two ultra-low power microcontrollers with built-in 16-bit timers, a fast 10-bit A/D converter, an integrated reference and data transfer controller (DTC), a comparator, built-in communication capability using a universal serial communication interface, and up to 24 I/O pins.
