This is the power of the OPA541 op amp capable of operating from power supply to ± 40V and delivering to a continuous output current of 5A grade.The current limiting circuit can be used with a single user-programmed external resistor inside, protecting the amplifier and load from fault conditions.The OPA541 was made using a proprietary bipolar/FET process.

Pinout is compatible with popular hybrid power amplifiers such as the OPA512 and 3573 OPA511.A single OPA541 is used to limit both positive and negative currents of current-limit resistors.Hybrid amplifier applications currently in use require 2 current-limit resistors and do not need to be changed.

The power of OPA541 is that it can be packaged in 11-pin plastic and a flexible TO-3 8-pin sealed package.
