The OPA698 is a wideband, unity-gain regulated voltage feedback operational amplifier that provides bipolar output voltage limiting. When an output voltage control driver that takes double-buffering limits, it attempts to exceed these limits. This new output limits the building preservation limiter offset error to ± 15 millivolts. The op amp operates linearly at an output voltage limit of 30 mV.

The narrow range and low nonlinearity combined to limit the offsetting allowable limit voltage are set at the ideal linear output range of 100 mV. A fast 1-ns recovery ensures that the signal from limiting the overload signal will be transparent to the signal path. In implementation relative to the input and output, the limit function gives a specified accuracy limit for any gain and allows the OPA698 to be used in all standard op amp applications.
