The LM3495 is a PWM buck regulator that implements a unique analog peak current mode control. This control method eliminates switching noise that is typically limited to very short duty cycles and high operating frequency current mode operation. Programmable switching frequencies between 200 kHz and 1.5 MHz can also be synchronized to an external clock. The LM3495 is also very tolerant to both switch node short-circuits, hiccup mode, and adaptive duty cycle limiting protection faults. A 0.6V 1% reference and trouble-free prebias startup ensure reliable operation with the most demanding digital loads. The ability to internally soft-start and track the output of another power supply makes the LM3495 flexible and efficient.
