The REG710 is a switching capacitor voltage converterthat produces a regulated, low-ripple, output voltage from an unregulated input voltage. Batteries with a wide input supply voltage of 1.8V to 5.5V make a variety of REG710 ideal for a source such as a single lithium-ion cell or two and three nickel or alkaline chemicals.

The input voltage may vary The output voltage and output regulation above and below are still present. It is also suitable for step-up or buck applications without the need for an inductor, providing low EMI DC/DC conversion.
