The RT8010/A is a high-efficiency pulse-width modulated (PWM) step-down DC/DC converter. Capable of providing 1A of output current over a wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, the RT8010/A is ideal for portable electronic devices, powered by 1 lithium-ion battery, or from other power sources such as mobile phones, PDAs and handheld devices.
Two operating modes are available, including: PWM/Low Dropout Auto Switch and Shutdown Mode. The PWM mode is internally synchronized with the low R DS(ON) to greatly reduce conduction losses. There is no need for external Schottky diodes in practical applications.
The RT8010/A enters a low-dropout mode on the P-MOSFET where normal PWM does not provide a stable output voltage continuously rotating. The RT8010/A enters shutdown mode and the EN pin is pulled down when the consumption is below 0.1μA.
It is easy to switch the ripple small package filter element smoothly due to the fixed operating frequency of 1.5MHz. This offers small PCB area applications with the small WDFN-6L 2x2 and 3x3 packages WQFN-16L. Other features include soft start, 2% less accurate internal reference voltage, over-temperature protection, over-current protection.
