The RT8010/A is a high efficiency pulse-width modulation (PWM) step-down DC/DC converter. Capable of delivering 1A of output current over a wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, the RT8010/A is ideal for portable electronic devices, powered by a 1-cell Li-ion battery, or from other power sources such as cell phones, PDAs, and handheld devices.
Two operating modes are available, including PWM/low dropout automatic switching and shutdown mode. The PWM mode of synchronous rectification with low R DS(ON) greatly reduces conduction losses. There is no need for an external Schottky diode in a practical application.
The RT8010/A enters a low-dropout mode on the P-MOSFET where normal PWM cannot provide a stable output voltage that rotates continuously. The RT8010/A enters shutdown mode and the EN pin is pulled low when consuming less than 0.1μA.
Easy to switch the ripple smoothly small pack filter element due to the fixed operating frequency of 1.5MHz. With the small WDFN-6L 2x2 and 3x3 packages WQFN-16L, this provides small PCB area applications. Other features include soft-start, an internal reference voltage with low 2% accuracy, overtemperature protection, and overcurrent protection.
