illustrate
The SCAN921821 is a dual-channel 18-bit serializer with signal conditioning, boundary scanning, and high-speed BIST. Each serial block converts a single bus LVDS data stream into an 18-bit parallel LVCMOS/LVTTL data bus with an embedded clock. This serial data stream of a single embedded clock simplifies PCB design and narrows the data path, resulting in lower PCB size and lower PCB cost. A single serial data stream also reduces the size of cables, the number of connectors, and eliminates clock-to-data and data-to-data skew.
Each channel also features an 8-level selectable pre-emphasis function that significantly extends performance over lossy interconnects. Each channel also has its own power-down pin, saving the channel when it is not in use by reducing the supply current.
The SCAN921821 also incorporates advanced testability features, including IEEE 1149.1 and AT-speed BIST self-PRBS mode generation to facilitate board and link integrity verification
