The SCAN928028 integrates 8 serializer devices into a single chip. The SCAN928028 can sequence up to eight 10-bit streams simultaneously. 10-bit parallel input, LVTTL signal level. With additional drive currents for point, the output LVDS signal is serialized for lighter applications with point and multipoint loads. Each serializer block operates independently of each serializer block by using a single shared PLL gating on the SCAN928028.

The SCAN928028 uses a typical power consumption of 740 mW (3.3V/PRBS/66 MHz) using a single +3.3 V supply. Each serial channel has a unique power down control for further power savings.

For high-speed LVDS serial data transmission, line quality is essential, so the SCAN928028 includes a @ speed test function. The ability of each serial channel to internally generate PRBS data patterns. This pattern is received by the specific deserializer (SCAN921224), which has supplemented the PRBS verification circuitry. The deserializer checks for data bit errors and reports the test verification pin pattern of any faulty deserializer.
