To reduce standby power consumption, a proprietary green mode feature provides shutdown time modulation to reduce the switching frequency in a linear manner under light load conditions. This green mode feature enables power supplies to meet even the most stringent energy-saving requirements. The BiCMOS process is manufactured to reduce the starting current by 9UA to 3mA. To further improve power savings, a large starting resistance can be used. The built-in synchronous ramp compensation feature ensures stable peak current mode control. Proprietary internal compensation provides a constant output power limit over a common AC input range (90VAC to 264VAC). The pulse current limit of the pulse ensures safe operation, even in short circuits. The external power MOSFET is protected by a damaged supply overvoltage, and the output driver of the SG6859A is clamped at 17V.
