The HVD251 is used to employ controllers for serial communication in accordance with the physical layer with ISO 11898 standard applications. The HVD251 offers differential transmit capability, bus and differential reception capability, and CAN controller speeds up to 1 megabit per second (Mbps).

Designed for operation in harsh environments, it features cross-wire, overvoltage and ground protection losses ± 36 V, as well as overtemperature protection and the -7 V to 12 V common-mode range, tolerant to ± transients 200 V, transceivers and differential single-ended CAN controllers found on CAN buses in industrial, building automation, and automotive applications.
