The HVD251 is designed for use in the Controller Area Network (CAN) serial communication application in accordance with the physical layer and ISO 11898 standards. The HVD251 provides differential transmitting, bus, and differential receiving capability with CAN controller speeds up to 1 megabit per second (Mbps).

Designed for operation in harsh environments, it features cross-wire, overvoltage, and ground protection for losses ± 36 V, while also exhibiting overheat protection and a -7 V to 12 V common mode range, enduring up to ± transients 200 V, transceivers with differential single-ended CAN controllers for CAN bus in industrial, building automation discovery, and automotive applications.
