The SN65HVS885 is an eight-channel digital input for high channel density industrial and building automation serial digital input modules. Operates in areas where an input voltage of up to 34V is accepted from a 5V power supply device. The high-voltage signal interface to the low-voltage signal on the field and controller side is completed between the combined device with the galvanic isolator. The input signal current limit is then verified by an internal debounce filter.

Along with some external components in addition, input switch characteristics can be configured as specified in IEC61131-Type 1, 2nd and 3rd sensor switches.

In load and clock signal applications, the input data is latched to parallel shift registers and post-event serial synchronous outputs.
