Operates on a single +5 V power supply     Meets all RS-232F and ITU V.28 specifications     Operates with capacitors from 0.1μF to 1μF     High data rate - 120Kbps at load     Low-Power CMOS - 3mA Operation (SP232A)     No external capacitance required (SP233A)     Low Power Shutdown (SP310A, SP312A)     Enhanced ESD Protection (2kV Mannequin) Description The line driver and receiver pair of the SP233A/SP310A/SP312A device are compliant with RS-232 and V.28 serial protocol specifications. These devices are pin-to-pin compatible with popular industry standard pins. The SP233A / SP310A / SP312A offers a load at a data rate of 120kbps, a small ceramic type charge pump capacitor of 0.1μF and overall ruggedness in commercial applications. Features include Exar's BiCMOS design for low-power operation, allowing for performance without sacrificing performance. These devices are available in plastic DIP and SOIC packages and operate over a wide range of commercial and industrial temperatures
