The SP3249E uses an internal high-efficiency, charge-pumped power supply that only requires a 0.1μF capacitor to operate at 3.3V. This charge pump and Exar driver architecture allows SP3249E devices to deliver power ranging from a single +3.0 V to +5.0 from standard RS-232 performance five, making the SP3249E ideal for 5-driver/3-receiver devices, laptops/notebook booktops, and PDA applications
