These devices are pin-to-pin compatible with Exar's SP490 and SP491 devices, as well as popular industry standards. The SP3490 and SP3491 feature Exar's BiCMOS process, allowing for low power operation without sacrificing performance. The SP3490 and SP3491 meet the electrical specifications of RS-485 and RS-422 serial protocols under loads up to 10Mbps. The same SP3491 is the same as the driver and reciveiver three-state enabling line SP3490.
