The TAS5601 is a 20-watt (per channel) high efficiency, stereo digital amplifier for driving 4 single-ended speakers, 2 bridged speakers, or single and bridged power stage load combinations. The TAS5601 can drive impedance speakers as low as 4Ω. The high efficiency, "90 into 8Ω load % of the TAS5601," eliminates the need for an external heatsink.

A simple interface with the PWM of the digital audio processor is shown. The TAS5601 is fully protected against faults with short-circuit protection and thermal protection as well as overvoltage and undervoltage protection. Faults are reported to the processor to prevent damage to the device in case of overload.
