Combining all of the TL598 in the construction of a pulse-width modulation (PWM) control system requires a single chip function. Designed primarily for power control, the TL598 offers system engineers with the flexibility of a power control circuit tailored to a specific application.
The TL598 amplifier contains two errors, an internal oscillator (externally adjustable), a comparator for dead time control (DTC), a pulse steering trigger, a 5 V precision reference, undervoltage lockout control, and output control circuitry. Two totem pole outputs provide superior rise and power FET controlled fall time performance. The outputs have a common source supply and common power ground terminals, allowing system designers to eliminate voltage droops caused by high currents and errors caused by common-mode noise.
TL598 features
- Complete PWM power control function
- 200-mA suck or source current totem pole output
- Output control selects parallel or push-pull operation
- Both internal circuitry is disabled at the double pulse output
- Variable dead time control provides more than the total range
- Internal regulators provide a regulated 5V reference supply trimmed to 1% tolerance
- On-board output current limit protection
- Undervoltage lockout is a low voltage condition
- Discrete power and signal grounds
