The TLC548 and TLC549 are CMOS analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that surround an 8-bit switching capacitor successively approximation ADC with integrated circuits. These devices are designed for serial interface with microprocessors or peripherals via a 3-state data output and analog input. The TLC548 and TLC549 use only the input/output clock (I/O clock) with input chip selection (CS) input for data control. The input frequency of the maximum I/O clock is 2.048 TLC548 MHz, and the input of the TLC549 with the I/O clock frequency is specified to 1.1 MHz.

The operation of the TLC548 and TLC549 is very similar, and the more complex devices of the TLC540 and TLC541, however, the TLC548 and TLC549 provide on-chip system clocks, typically operating at 4 MHz without the need for external components.
