The TMS320C64x™DSP (including TMS320DM642 devices) is the highest performance fixed-point DSP generation in TMS320C6000™DSP platform. The TMS320DM642 (DM642) devices are based on the second-generation high-performance, advanced VelociTI™ Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) architecture (VelociTI.2™) developed by Texas Instruments, making these DSPs a good choice for digital media applications. The C64x™ is a member of the C6000™DSP platform code compatible.

With a 720 MHz clock rate of Million Instructions per Second (MIPS) performance, the 5760 provides a cost-effective solution to high-performance DSP programming challenges in the DM642 device. The DM642's DSP offers high-speed controller business flexibility and array processor numerical capabilities.
