The F2802x piccolo ™ microcontroller family provides the ™ C28x with a highly integrated control peripheral coupling core with low-pin count devices. This family is code compatible with the previous C28x-based code while providing a highly integrated simulation.

An internal voltage regulator that allows monorail operation. The HRPWM module for directional control (frequency modulation) has been enhanced. The internal 10-bit analog comparator has an increased reference that can be sent directly to the control PWM output. The ADC converts a fixed full-scale range from 0 to 3.3 V and supports a REFHI/Video REFLO reference for the rate measurement. The ADC's interface is optimized for low overhead/latency.
