The TPA2008D2 is a third-generation 5-V Class D amplifier Texas Instruments. Improvements from the previous generation include: DC volume control, lower supply current, low noise layer, high efficiency, smaller package, fewer external components. Most notably, the new filterless Class D modulation technology enables TPA2008D2 to drive directly without the need for a low-pass filter output inductor and two capacitors to form three speakers per channel. Eliminating this output filter saves approximately 30% of system cost and 75% of PCB area.

The improvements and features make this LCD projector, LCD monitor, active speaker, and other applications that require more battery life, reduce board space, and are ideal for devices that outperform existing Class D devices.
