The TPA311 is a bridged load (BTL) or single-ended (SE) audio power amplifier developed for both internal and external speaker headphone operation applications, especially as required. Powered by a 3.3-V supply, it is capable of providing a continuous output power of 8 250 MW under the TPA311 line.Less than 1% of THD+N loads the entire language band. Although this device is characterized by going out to 20 kHz, its operation is optimized for narrow-band applications such as mobile communications. The BTL configuration eliminates the output to most applications on externally coupled capacitors, which is an important requirement especially for small battery-powered devices. The TPA311 is unique in that it allows the BTL amplifier to be switched to selenium when required for headphone drivers.
