The TPIC46L01, TPIC46L02 and TPIC46L03 are low-end pre-drivers that provide serial interfaces and parallel input inputs to control the power of six external field-effect transistors (FETs), such as the power switches available in Texas Instruments' TPIC array series. These devices are primarily used in applications with inductive loads such as low-frequency switches, solenoid valves, and relays. Each channel fault state provides a serial data format. Each drive channel has independent shutdown state open-load detection and status shorted-load/short-to-battery detection. Battery overvoltage, undervoltage detection and shutdown are provided. Battery and output load failures provide real-time fault reporting to the controller.
