The DC-DC controller TPS4002x series is designed for nonisolated synchronous buck regulators that provide operational and design flexibility through user-programmable enhancements.

The TPS4002x uses a proprietary predictive gate drive ™ technique to minimize losses associated with diode turn-on transitions to high-side and synchronous rectifier N-channel MOSFETs. An integrated charge-pump boost circuit provides regulated 5 - V gate drive for two high-side and synchronous rectified N-channel MOSFETs. The combination of predictive gate lane ™ technology and charge pump usage/boost circuitry provides efficient, smaller, and less expensive converters.

Design flexibility is provided by user programmable functions such as operating frequency, short-circuit current detection threshold, soft-start ramp time, frequency, and external synchronization.
