TPS40020 

Enhanced low-input (2.25V-5.5V), synchronous buck controller with a maximum frequency of 1MHz, used as a source controller only

illustrate   The DC-to-DC controllers TPS4002x series are designed for non-isolated synchronous buck regulators that provide flexibility in operation and design with user-programmable enhancements. The TPS4002x uses proprietary predictive gate drive ™ technology to minimize diode conduction and transition-related losses in high-side and synchronous rectifier N-channel MOSFETs. The boost circuit with integrated charge pump provides a regulated 5-V gate drive for two high-end and synchronous rectified N-channel MOSFETs. This predictive gate lane ™ technology combined with charge pump use/boost circuitry provides an efficient, smaller, and cheaper converter. The flexibility of the design is through user-programmable features such as: operating frequency, short-circuit current detection threshold, soft-start ramp time, frequency and external synchronization.   characteristic   The operating input voltage is 2.25 V to 5.5 V The output voltage is 0.7 low V 1%, with a built-in 0.7 V reference The gate drives ™the N-channel MOSFET driver with higher efficiency Externally adjustable soft-start and short-circuit current limits Programmable fixed frequency 100 kHz to 1 MHz voltage mode control The source is only current or source/absorb current The Fast Transient Response Output Comparator provides an indication of the power good output status with 16-pin PowerPAD™ package apply Network equipment Telecommunications equipment base station server DSP power supply
