The TPS4005x is a high voltage, wide input family (8 V to 40 V), synchronous, buck converter. The TPS4005x family offers user-programmable features including soft-start, undervoltage lockout, operating frequency, voltage feed-forward, high-side current limit, loop compensation, and various design flexibility.

The TPS4005x is also synchronized to an external power supply. They used the gate driver of the MOSFET of the external N-channel high-side and synchronous rectifier (SR) MOSFET. Drive logic gate reversal circuitry is used to prevent cross-conduction synchronous high-side and synchronous rectifier conduction.

The TPS4005x uses voltage feed-forward control technology that provides a wide (4:1) input voltage range with good linearity adjustment, fast response with input variants, and it simplifies loop compensation near constant gain for input voltage transients.
