The TPS4005x is a high-voltage, wide-input (8-volt to40-five), synchronous step-down controller. The TPS4005x series offers user-programmable features including soft-start, undervoltage lockout, operating frequency, voltage feedforward, high-side current limiting, loop compensation, and flexibility in various designs.

The TPS4005x uses voltage feedforward control technology to provide good linear regulation and fast response to input voltage transients over a wide (4:1) input voltage range. Near-constant change regulation gain simplifies loop compensation. External programmable current limiting provides pulses with pulse current limiting, as well as hiccup mode operation, taking advantage of the long duration of internal fault durations for heavy load counters.
