The TPS40100 is also a medium-voltage, wide-input (at 4.5 V and 18 V), synchronous, step-down controller. The TPS40100 also provides programmable closed-loop soft-start, programmable undervoltage lockout (with programmable hysteresis), programmable current limit, and inductor sense that can be synchronized to other time bases. The TPS40100 also integrates gate drivers for MOSFETs with external N-channel high-side and synchronous rectifier (SR) MOSFETs. Adaptive cross-conduction circuitry with logic gate drivers to improve efficiency reduces the turn-on of cross-conducting and rectified MOSFET diodes. Externally programmable current limit provides a hiccup overcurrent recovery feature.
