TPS40170 is a full-featured, synchronous PWM buck controller optimized for DC/DC converter applications operating between 4.5 volts, 60 V input voltage, high power density, high reliability. The controller realizes the voltage mode and input voltage feedforward compensation, so that the input voltage change control is real-time. Programmable switching frequencies from 100 kHz to 600 kHz.

System protection for TPS40170 low-side FETs that have been detected, such as programmable undervoltage lockout, programmable overcurrent protection (OCP), a complete set of monitoring functions, and optional short-circuit protection to detect high-side FETs and thermal shutdown (SCP). The ENABLE pin allows the system to shut down in low current (1μA typical) mode.
