TPS40192 and TPS40193 are cost-optimized synchronous buck controllers that operate from 4.5 V to 18 V inputs. These controllers are based on a voltage-mode control architecture with a fixed switching frequency of either 600 kilohertz (TPS40192) or 300 kilohertz (TPS40193). The higher switching frequency promotes smaller inductors and output capacitors, providing a compact power solution. An adaptive anti-cross conduction scheme is used to prevent shooting through current in the power FET.

Short-circuit detection is the same as when the voltage drop of the opposite low-side MOSFET is detected, and the threshold for users to choose it is 100 mV, 200 mV or 280 mV. The threshold is set by a single external connection to the ground resistor from the match.
