The TPS40195 is a flexible synchronous buck controller that operates from a nominal 4.5 V to 20 V supply. The controller implements voltage-mode control with switching frequencies adjustable from 100 kHz to 600 kHz. Flexible features are found on this device, including selectable soft-start time, programmable short-circuit limit, programmable undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and synchronization capability. An adaptive anti-crossover scheme is used to prevent current from being shot at the power FET. Overcurrent detection is achieved by detecting the voltage across the low-side MOSFET when it is falling and comparing it to a user-programmable threshold.

The threshold sets a single external connection to the ground resistor from the ILIM.
