The TPS40200 is a flexible asynchronous controller with a built-in 200 mA P-channel FET driver. The circuit works up to 52 volts with a power saving function that shuts off the drive current once the external FET is fully activated. This feature extends the flexibility of the device, allowing the power of its operating input voltage to be excessively high not fading down to 52 V. The circuit has voltage mode feedback and feedforward input voltage compensation, which responds instantaneously to changes in input voltage. The integral 700 mV reference is trimmed to 2%, providing the means to precisely control the low voltage. The TPS40200 features an 8-pin SOIC and support for more complex controllers.
