, TPS40222 can be optimized for fixed-frequency, current-mode, asynchronous step-down converters powered by a 5 V distributed power supply application. With internally determined operating frequency, soft start time, control loop compensation, TPS40222 many functions with a minimum number of external components available.

, TPS40222 can operate at 1.25 MHz and support output loads up to 1.6 A. The output voltage can be set as low as 0.8 V, TPS40222 can be used to protect the pulse from a catastrophic short-circuit output state by using pulse current limiting and frequency foldback.
