The TPS51116 offers a DDR/SSTL-2, DDR2/SSTL-18 complete power supply and DDR3 memory system. It integrates a three-A synchronous buck controller/source-traced linear regulator and buffered low-noise reference. The TPS51116 provides a system with the lowest cost of a total solution, where space is at a premium. The TPS51116 synchronous controller runs an adaptive fixed-on-time control that can be configured in D-CAP mode for ease of use and fastest transient response or current mode, supporting 400kHz quasi-fixed-frequency PWM for ceramic output capacitors. 3. The receiver/source maintains a ceramic output capacitor of only 20μF (2×10μF) for the LDO with fast transient response. In addition, the LDO's power input greatly reduces the total external power loss.
