The TPS51125A is an effective dual synchronous buck controller for notebook power supply solutions at target cost. It is available in 5 V and 3.3 - V LDOs and requires few external components. The 270 kHz VCLK output can be used to drive an external charge pump without reducing the efficiency of the main converter to generate a load switch for the gate drive voltage. The TPS51125A supports high efficiency, fast transient response, and provides a combined power good signal. Outside of the audio mode light load operation, low noise can be achieved at much higher efficiency than traditional forced PWM. The D-Day control of adaptive opening time provides convenient and fast operation. The device has a power supply input voltage range from 5.
