TPS5120-EP Enhanced Product Dual Output Two-Phase Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC Controller

The TPS5120 is a two-channel, high-efficiency synchronous buck controller that runs 180 output phases, reducing input current ripple and thus reducing input capacitor costs. The PWM/skip pin allows for the operation mode, switching from PWM mode to skip mode under light load conditions. The jump mode can be shortened to low-side MOSFETs with lower operating frequencies and pulse widths, improving efficiency under light load conditions. Both modes, along with synchronous rectification drivers, dead time, and very low quiescent current, allow power to protect and extend the life of the battery under all load conditions. The driver chip on the high-side and low-side MOSFET drivers of 1.5 (typical) is designed with a cheaper N-channel MOSFET.
